Position Summary
The Operational Excellence Engineer II plays a critical part in driving operational excellence by leading and executing process optimization initiatives. Partnering closely with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams, the Operational Excellence Engineer evaluates end-to-end workflows, leads data-driven improvements, supports capital investments, and researches emerging technologies and methods to advance operational performance. By leveraging advanced CI methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, the role ensures alignment with organizational goals and delivers measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development:
- Ability to lead the cross-functional development, standardization, and optimization of manufacturing and business processes, including capital projects from concept through implementation to improve capacity, flow, and operational effectiveness.
Data Analysis:
- Lead collecting and analyzing operational and process data to identify inefficiencies, constraints, and performance gaps; conduct research on best practices, technologies, and methods to inform solution development and investment decisions.
Problem Solving:
- Ability to lead larger scope projects with a solid understanding of problem-solving process and ability to apply to more complex projects not limited to manufacturing.
- Coach supervisors and operators on CI tools, standard work, and problem-solving behaviors.
Operations/AMS:
- Lead the planning and execution of Ops initiatives, driving significant impact on operational performance.
- Drive and lead AMS culture change across the organization. Independently lead CI projects aligned to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
Team Collaboration/Mentorship:
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to align process improvement goals, provide guidance, and resolve roadblocks.
- Support leaders and frontline teams in developing foundational capability in AMS/Lean tools by providing basic training, technical guidance, and assistance with certification requirements.
Education and Experience
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience
- 2–5 years of manufacturing or CI experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Applied knowledge of CI and Lean methodologies
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills
- Ability to influence without authority
- Comfort working with operational metrics and data
Work Environment/Travel Requirements
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment.
- Extended periods of office work on a computer and in team meetings.
- Regional day travel is expected with this role.
- Overnight travel requirements will be variable based on projects and business activities, expected up to 10%

- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
