About the Role:
Our estimator’s role is primarily focused on sales of new Contract Glazing work for Commercial construction projects. This will include material take-offs, cost estimates, planning, and documentation of sales opportunities as well as assisting the Project Managers with job handoff documentation.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare accurate material take-offs and labor estimates assigned by Sales Director.
- Organize specifications per Job Scope for Estimate.
- Prepare Substitution Requests for Value Engineering purposes.
- Prepare project cost estimate and bid for new Commercial Construction Projects.
- Visit Site as needed for Estimating.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Prepare for hand off meeting held with Project Team to discuss Scope of Work for assigned Project.
- Be available as a resource for material, supplies, and equipment needed to perform work.
- Estimator will enter all job information and documentation in TrueConstruct software for future access.
- Collaborate with Sales Director on all quotes or bids for best market positioning.
- Estimator is to attend and represent company at different showcases that his manager requires him to attend.
- Update Sales Director on status of bids in process or sent.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years commercial Construction Estimating Glazing Estimating Experience preferred
- Independent worker who can effectively collaborate in a team environment.
- Skilled in reading Construction Blueprints, Specs Etc.
- Must be able to visualize from blueprints, or drawings, the finished product for take-off and estimate.
- Possess Skill and ability to Value Engineer a project for alternative methods of achievement.
- Ability to use or learn Glaziers Studio or other estimating software.
- Skilled in use of Outlook, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom
- Great communication skills within and without the company.
- Must be able to climb ladder and walk around job sites if needed to evaluate project for estimation.

- Able to spend long periods of time using a computer
- Able to use office equipment such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, filing cabinets, etc.
