About the Role:
As an Aluminum Fabricator for Door Hardware at Double O Inc., you’ll focus on fabricating aluminum doors and precisely preparing them for a wide range of hardware components including hinges, locks, panic devices, closers, and access control systems. Your work directly impacts the functionality, security, and finish quality of commercial glazing installations.
What You’ll Do:
- Read and interpret door hardware schedules and fabrication drawings
- Prep aluminum doors for various hardware types (mortise locks, electric strikes, closers, etc.)
- Drill, notch, and cut aluminum door profiles to accommodate specific hardware specs
- Ensure precise alignment, function, and finish of all door hardware preps
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, and shop team to ensure accuracy
- Maintain safe and efficient use of tools and machinery
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm with overtime as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience in aluminum door fabrication or glazing industry
- Strong knowledge of commercial door hardware and prep requirements
- Ability to read and interpret detailed fabrication and hardware schedules
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, drill presses, punches, routers, etc.
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to manage a variety of work and adapt to changing situations
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Proficient with using power tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
