Unloads laminating units from the production line and places them on proper clave racks in accordance with the established production schedules and quality standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Communicates with recorder and sorts glass from the line to the proper clave racks.
2. Ensures that all units are properly spaced and/or blocked and strapped down before the rack is turned, left unattended or removed from the line.
3. Notifies recorder of any breakage, defects in units or shortages in production runs.
4. Sorts unit whenever possibly by customer order and size and keeps all recuts together on one rack.
5. Obtains assistance for proper handling of large glass sizes or uses the manipulator.
6. Secures clave racks with straps.
7. Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation.
8. Participates in Viracon’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team’s performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

1. May help in other production areas as necessary to meet production schedules or balance workloads.
2. Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
3. Maintains a neat and orderly working area at the end of the workday.
4. Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
5. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred but not required.
2. Ability to read, write and understand work instructions (English).
3. Mathematical skills as related to measurements.
4. Familiar with operating power tools.
5. Ability to take supervision.
6. Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member.
7. Must be able to safely perform essential job responsibilities.
8. Must have forklift license.
9. Regular full-time attendance.
10. Promotes Viracon in a positive manner and obeys all policies.
Additional Qualifications for Laminating Rack Loader 2:
1. Employee must demonstrate the tasks, outlined in the position’s training plan, prior to receiving an increased labor grade rate.
